The State Fair

We go to the IN state fair every year. It's really one of our favorite things to do. This year Emma got to ride the ponies again...something she had remembered from doing last year. She got to ride "Rowdy" again. And then she and I got to ride an elephant. The ride was same distance as down our driveway and back. Pretty cool.

One of the girls' favorite thing to do at the fair was watch the horse judging where the teams of 2-6 horses are hitched together and all fancied up with bows in their tails and manes. This is something Emma has been doing to her little 6" tall horses we have here at home. Hilarious!

Always bittersweet when the fair is here. So fun to go to but it mean the end of summer.

Our 30th!

Adam and I will turn 30 on Tues, the 26th. As I was watching Adam skydive all day Saturday, my sweet husband planned a beautiful surprise party back at our house for me to come home to. I was a little suspicious that something was up, but I had no idea it was something so special. We're talking twinkle lights and tiki torches in the backyard, photo slideshow, my own ipod playlist (modern day equivalent to, "I made you a mixed tape.") Blew me away, honestly. He NEVER ceases to amaze me. I'm convinced I have the best guy! Thanks so much to all of you who were there to make our birthday party wonderful. It meant so much. I only have a few photos of us and our cake. I guess we were having so much fun, we forgot about photos! Just imagine the best surprise party ever! Love you, Tim!!
So Adam called me last week and said he might go Skydiving with some of his buddies. I said I'd love to come and watch it. Dad has kept a plane at Greensburg Airport for a long time which is where this skydiving place is, so we've seen many jumpers while hanging out there. Little did he know he would be one of those jumpers someday. We've also taken off in the plane many a time from that runway, but I bet Adam never thought after takeoff that he would be landing this way. His buddies all went before him, so he got to see how great they thought it was. He was the last of his group to go after waiting most of the day. He didn't jump until 4pm! It was SOOO exciting watching him do this. My most anxious moment was waiting on the ground after his plane had taken off, knowing that he was probably looking down at the ground from 8,000 feet and getting ready to be launched out the plane door! On the ground we heard "Jumpers Away" and knew that would see his chute open after about 60secs of him freefalling. It was just awesome, really. We're so proud of him for doing it. I attached the link of the video below. So enjoy. Maybe you get a slight adrenaline rush too.

Happy 1st Birthday, Sophie!!

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"...so as you can see Soph wasn't into the whole cake thing at that particular moment, but was happy pretty much the rest of the party. We had such a great time hanging out with family and friends. We appreciate all of you who came and shared this special milestone with us.

"Who's the fairest one of all?!"

These two have matching monkey jammies...so fitting, don't you think!

Emma latest thing is putting on my bright red lipstick so she can be more in character. You know, "lips red as rose."
