Emma's 1/2 Birthday Party

Emma had her half birthday party today at preschool that I got to attend. Always fun to watch her in class from the sidelines.  We haven't made too much of a big about it home, saying it's only a preschool thing so she doesn't expect gifts and cake at home tonight. She liked that all her friends sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

A day at the Children's Museum with our friends, Liz, Addie and Romie.
Tanky boy.
Emma desperately wants curls so she can look like Sleeping Beauty. Unfortunately, her hair doesn't hold curls too well. We tried sponge curlers here.
A chocolate cake batter mustache.

Pooh at work

Tim took Emma to preschool yesterday and she insisted on leaving Pooh in daddy's car instead of mine where she would see him when I picked her up. Well of course she cried when Pooh wasn't in my car. I told her that he went on to work with Daddy. And she said, sobbing, "But he's not wearing work clothes." She thinks that work clothes are dress clothes like Daddy wears. Pooh I guess needed to wear the appropriate attire for the office. So I told Daddy about Emma's concern and he emailed some photos of Pooh at work. She thought they were pretty funny. Thanks, Daddy.

We all went to the Children's Museum again yesterday. (Thanks Uncle Gary for the family pass renewal!!) They played in the water table and sand, rode the carousel, had a grilled cheese and chocolate chip cookies and played in the science works. Long, but fun day. Soph wore a pony tail for the first time. Cute, but it makes her look older.

January Happenings

We started a movie night with the girls on Friday. Mostly, because after toying with the idea of taking Emma to a theater to see Hotel for Dogs, we realized it would be a waste of money and energy. So we all donned jammies, make a big nest in the living room and led Emma decide what movie she wanted. So we all watched "The Little Mermaid," ate oreos and relaxed...for about 5 minutes. And then Sophie, after quickly chowing down her cookies, wanted to wrestle with the dogs, drive her train around and climb on the furniture. It was fun. Emma thought the sleeping bags on the floor was the best part.
Last week, we all got "inked." Emma has a ziploc bag full of temp tattoos that she recently rediscovered. She picked Goofy for Daddy and Soph got Minnie Mouse. This photo doesn't show it, but Soph really likes her tattoo.

They look tough don't they!
Emma managed to get a pair of my boots on and walk into the kitchen. They look like waders.

What a mess!

We had spaghetti and chocolate pudding for dinner...so that means eating in diaper only. What fun!
